why don’t people give a shit about Indigenous issues? They have dropped off the radar, unless it is to offer a fucking cliche or stereotypes.

I am clumsy first thing in the morning. I love coffee. I am in the last stages of writing my PhD. I realised this as a result of two things. Firstly, my funding is going to run out soon and stocking up on noodles has begun, and secondly, my friends have started introducing me to new people as someone who is “finishing” her PhD (to which I smile, nod and slowly descend into a dark well of internal anxiety!). I’m very political and increasingly unconcerned if this confronts other people.
This blog is about politics and contains a range of styles; essays, rants, creative fiction and poetry. It is mostly a way for me to explore ideas and get a dialogue happening with other like-minded people.
Postpolitical refers to the demise of collective social movements in favour of a sort of depoliticising individualism committed to consumerism; postfeminism is one example that particularly bugs me. Anyway, hopefully I can develop this idea further.

Rolf Harris does. His time away as a zany royal portraitist has given him a clarity of vision those of us living here could only dream about. According to Rolf, the solution to the problem of generational dispossession, discrimination and disadvantage among Aboriginal peoples is simple: they should “get off their arses.”
